Terms of Use & Disclaimer

We built this welcome book to be genuinely helpful. Here's the plain-language fine print that goes with it.

The friendly version

We put together this website and the printed welcome book in the home to help you enjoy your stay and the area around Chief Lake. It's all meant to be helpful and fun, nothing more. This website isn't where you book, and it isn't part of any rental contract. It's simply here to be thoughtful once your stay is arranged. By using it, you agree to the points below.

For information and entertainment only

Everything here, including restaurants, shops, activities, tips, and directions, is shared for general information and entertainment. It isn't professional advice, and it isn't a promise that any place, hour, price, or detail is current or correct. Businesses change, close, and update their offerings all the time. Always call ahead and check directly before you rely on anything you read here.

The places we mention aren't ours

The restaurants, shops, attractions, and other businesses we list are independent. Apart from our own related sites, they are not owned, run, or controlled by us, we're not affiliated with them, and we don't endorse or guarantee them. We're simply sharing spots we've personally enjoyed. Any experience you have with them is between you and them. Links to other websites, including any we run ourselves, are provided for convenience, and we're not responsible for their content or for any purchase you make through them.

About the safety tips

The safety notes in our welcome book and on this site are a small, partial sample of things to keep in mind. They are not a complete safety guide, and they are nowhere close to everything you should do to stay safe. They don't replace your own good judgment.

You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of everyone in your group, including children, at all times. Please supervise kids, use common sense around water, fire, decks, stairs, and equipment, and take whatever precautions your situation calls for.

You're responsible for your stay

When you visit, you and your guests take part in activities at your own risk. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any injury, illness, accident, loss, or damage that happens during or in connection with your stay or your use of this information. This sounds stern, but it's standard. Please just be careful and look after each other.

Your rental agreement controls

Bookings are arranged through the property manager, whether you reserve directly or through a platform like Airbnb or Vrbo. Your actual booking, the house rules, and your stay are governed by the rental agreement you made when you reserved, not by this website. If anything here ever seems to conflict with that agreement, or with the terms of the platform you booked through, that agreement and those terms come first.

Provided "as is"

This website and welcome book are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee that the site will always be available, error-free, or up to date.

Limit on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total responsibility to you relating to this website or welcome book is limited, and we are not responsible for any indirect or consequential losses. Some places don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Who we are

Lakeview Oasis is owned and operated by a Michigan limited liability company. In these terms, "we," "us," and "our" refer to that company and the people who manage the home. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.

Updates to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date above shows the latest version.
